We thought of that evening as our first themed event to be co-hosted by members and turned into a podcast – but strictly speaking, it was the second.  The first was actually our London launch, in May, which was effectively co-hosted by all the members of the core team – and produced five podcasts!

We followed a very similar format in Chelmsford as we had in London – open networking with wine and food, followed by the “presentation” part of the evening – finished off with more networking, wine and food, for those who wanted to stay.  There were a couple of big differences though:

Firstly, instead of conventional presentations, the hosts had a conversation around the theme and
Secondly, we got the audience involved – also to be included in the podcast.

Both needed a bit of a leap of faith.  There were two really hairy moments:
One just as we were about to start recording – and the equipment refused to play along! And
The second when we threw the issues we’d been discussing open to the floor and wondered if anyone would come back with a question or comment.

Fortunately, the technology did decide to be kind – and thanks to a great crowd, the Q & A session was pretty lively!

A huge amount of work went into the organization of the evening, but it paid off.  It was a very successful night – and thanks to everyone who gave us their feedback, we aim to make the next one even better!
